Description
The Florentine Ildebrando Bastiani born in 1867, showcases his incredible skills in the texturing of the white marble through his work. In this representation of the birth of Venus, the transparent drapery partially envelopes the body of the figure and reaches the base where Bastiani meticulously represented a seashell and some sea related elements. The sculpture in its delicacy fully embodies the artist’s love for the female figure and sentimental representations.
The sculpture is part of the European Art collection which can be found at Christie’s Auction House.
