A fervent Monk whose worship of Glanion and its both turbulent and peaceful nature has unlocked within him a power that only emanates in a few. The Astral Sun within Caryian is borne from his own desire to protect his people, having achieved such ascension during the Siege of Hinatal at the hands of Mindoriel’s Spawn half a decade ago.
The youngest child of an impoverished family, Caryian was given to the Temple of Glanion soon after birth as his parents were unable to care for him in the dire days when Hinatal still lay beneath the sands. There he grew to become a formidable monk and warrior, mastering the ways of the Radiant Fist before he had even reached adulthood. When Hinatal was finally raised from its tomb, and the clear sky and sun became reality, Caryian underwent a metamorphosis of both mind and body. The Great Sun, in all its glory, awoke something long dormant in him: a sense of connectedness to Glanion that had always been absent in the caverns, where their only glimpse of his radiance came through cracks in the ceiling above.
Glanion now has imbued himself in an awoken Caryian, in the form of the Astral Sun. Though the Astral Sun can bend in the will he wishes, Caryian has used the power in combat to further enhance his abilities as a warrior. During the Siege of Hinatal and the assault of Mindoriel’s Spawn against it, he was among the city’s valiant defenders, obliterating enemies in heaps with Glanion’s raw power. Such acts of heroism have long earned him adoration from the populace. Despite this, Caryian still feels like a young fledgling, not the master of wisdom and war that his peers ascribe him to be.
