Erebus is an Encom-Martin Ursula Class C Lifeboat/Shuttle. It has limited stores and FTL capability, but can support a crew of three for long durations in suspended animation. If the need arises, it has an under-floor storage area where an additional three cryotubes can be installed.
The standard Erebus is powered by a micro-fusion reactor that expels compressed carbon through up to eight rocket motors allowing powerful thrust, and can shunt the shuttle to low FTL speeds with a limited range of 3 parsecs.
The shuttle is at 28mm scale by default (1:59, 1"/25.4mm == ca. 5'/1.5m) and is approximately 13 inches long, or about 325 mm in length.
The main cabin features three cryotubes, a cockpit, ship systems and a navigation table. There are two closets that are used to partition engineering machinery and HVAC systems, and room for suit lockers. At the rear of the vessel is a small airlock.
Erebus featured in our Sole Survivor Kickstarter from May 2024. In addition to the base vessel, the following Erebus Mods are available:
- Hull Extenders - Lengthen and widen the Erebus for more interior space. Can lengthen multiple times.
Aerodynamic Variant - Adds wings and other control surfaces to the Erebus and its engines.
Landing Gear Variant - Adds parts to show and extended landing gear, compatible with the hull extenders and aerodynamic variants
Alternate Thrusters - Adds alternate thruster designs
Turret Mount - Adds a dorsal turret ring compatible with our standard turrets
Endurance Variant - Adds interior components to convert the Erebus into an interplanetary shuttle, with basic living quarters
Manoeuvrabiliy Pack - Adds additional thrusters to increase the performance of the ship in a vacuum
Assembly instructions are included.
Use the build plates included for quick printing. Remember to import, unless you have a prusa i3 MK4, in which case you should be able to just open them in prusaslicer and hit print.
