Okay, since that last poll was sooo close, I decided to go the extra mile and create the second place winner as a Limited Bonus this month, and I couldn't be happier with how this turned out! (Don't worry, I already started the Hippo) 😉

As a Limited Bonus it will stay around for 2 months ( July and August only) and then have to be purchased by new members down the road. I felt this was more fair to current members since the original Orca was a past Exclusive.

Now for something a little technical. Watch out for "elephants foot."

*If you are a Bambu user, you can stop reading here since by default Bambustudio implements elephants foot compensation of .15

You should always minimize elephant's foot, but for the Orca it's more important because with too much, it may be too rigid to stand (especially when printing smaller).

If you find this to be the case, try making this adjustment. In cura it is called "initial layer horizontal expansion." Set this to ( -.15 ) or ( -.1 )

Print tips and Info:

• STL and 3MF files are included. * If you use the 3mf file, please remember that it is a painted project file for your convenience. You must check your material/printer/settings to make sure it works correctly for your printing project. (For easy printing, just change your ams color pallet instead of opening the painter.)
• I print with 3 walls, 15% infill/gyroid, .12 or .16 layer height for quality.
• I test print between 50% and 150% for functionality and printability. Small parts can be fragile, especially with some silks.
• Gradient PLA works well with this Print-in-place model with separate stand and accessories
• 1st/2nd photo 100% 3mf: Bambulab PLA Cyan and ZIRO Fast Change Meadow Mirage Matte
• 3rd photo 90% and 80%: ZIRO Fast Change Sunrise Matte and Cookiecad Unicorn
• 4th photo 110%, 30%, 35% and 40%: ZIRO Fast Change Sunrise Matte and Red, Blue and Green single color PLA
