    Description

    Hatchepsout est reine-pharaon, le cinquième souverain de la XVIIIe dynastie de l'Égypte antique. Hatchepsout est la fille du pharaon Thoutmôsis Ier et de la Grande épouse royale Ahmès. Son époux est Thoutmôsis II, fils de Thoutmôsis Ier et d'une épouse secondaire Moutnofret Ire. Le couple a une fille Néférourê. Hatchepsout monte sur le trône vers 1478 av. J.-C. Elle règne conjointement avec Thoutmôsis III, le fils de son époux, et d'une épouse secondaire de celui-ci, Iset. Selon l'égyptologue James Henry Breasted, elle est connue pour être la « première grande femme dont l'histoire ait gardé le nom ».

    Manéthon l'appelle Amessis ou Amensis.
