Flat-Pack 6mm Sci-Fi Buildings for BattleTech & More
Originally designed as a high-quality replacement for the cardboard buildings in the BattleTech Alpha Strike boxed set, this pack includes 15 buildings that match the size and layout of the originals.
Perfect for any 6mm-scale sci-fi wargame, these buildings are optimized for FDM printing. Each building is designed for quick assembly and disassembly: print the walls and roof separately, slot them together for gameplay, then take them apart again for easy flat storage.
Every roof includes level-height features to support miniatures standing on top, making them fully playable terrain pieces.
You'll get both mono-color and multi-color STL files. The multi-color versions are designed to minimize filament changes, keeping print times efficient. For a great look, try printing:
- Back: grey or brown
- Front: off-white
- Windows: bright blue, red, orange, or green
I’ve tested these prints on a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS, using a 0.08 mm layer height. I’ve also experimented with oil washes over the multi-color prints and been really happy with the results - photos coming soon!
Updates:
2025-07-05: I've fixed Building 3's Outer wall in all three zip files as it had a void behind the windows. I've also put in the correct 3mf file for Building 4 in "6mm buildings - multicoloured - combined 3mf files.zip". Thanks Snickett for letting me know these issues!
Print with 0.08mm layer height. Other layer heights might work, but I have not tested them.
I also recommend using Orcaslicer, as it requires less filament and prints faster where the walls transition from one color to the next as Bambu slicer (at least) tends to use a set of top layers before changing to the new color and then a set of bottom layers for the new color.
I have not tried other slicers or printers other than my Bambulab P1S.
The slicer may complain that some of the files require support, but they're designed to bridge over the gap and support is not needed.

Thanks! It loads fine now in Bambu Studio without issue. I have come across another issue with Building 03: 2 of the sides have very thin geometry for the windows, resulting in a very thin bridge of filament
