Finally finished this most excellent model and I think it looks GREAT! I did paint some darker shadows on the log, and the stripes are painted on both guys, but otherwise printed completely in living color :)

Finally finished putting these together. Printed on a Formbot Trex2+, NOT home made but a great large format printer that is not listed here, with PLA from various manufacturers. Great model thanks Steve.

Took me a while to finish this. The biggest challenge are all the stripes on Hobbes. My breakthrough was realizing that strips of a good quality black electrical tape cut to the appropriate width was a lot easier than printing and gluing. In the picture of Hobbes attached, the stripes on the head are printed parts, the arms are tape. Great model and a very satisfying build.

Just one change, added a foot pad to Hobbes' right foot.

Not sure what the correct size and proportions are for posting pictures, so I'm adding one more to show the entire figures.

Printed 50% of original size. I painted the stripes with acrylic paint. Required a little bit of sanding due to the reduction of size. But most of the parts fit well.

Steve, Thanks for creating this to share. Printed in PLA, I smoothed and painted, the log is stained wood PLA. I really like the smoother look of painted as this guy will be going in a display case :) Props to Storm Canyon for the idea on the electrical tape, Worked Awesome :) I airbrushed laquer on top of it all to keep tape from peeling :)

150% Calvin and Hobbes. The others are 100%. Hands down the coolest thing I have ever printed. I am big fan! Printed at .2 on an Ultibots D300VS+.

I just finished this yesterday. Calvin and Hobbes is my all time favorite comic strip, so I had to print it big. I went with 150% and a .2 layer height. Standing on the log, Hobbes is about 14" tall. It's Huge! I had to cut the log in half and printed it vertically at .3 layer height. I also found out that the stripes turned out nicer if I over-extruded them, so I set my extrusion multiplier at 1.2 in S3D for those. It brings a smile to my face every time I look at it! Just for scale, Kermit and Snoopy are printed at 100%. Printed on an Ultibots D300VS+. The white is PETG, the rest is PLA.

I have wanted a Calvin and Hobbes since I first saw the the comic strip. thank you for doing the model.

I printed another Calvin and Hobbes for the teacher's lounge at our local high school. Our mascot is the Tigers, and our colors are blue, white, and black. It's been a hit so far!

Just finished the painting! I love Calvin and Hobbes since when I was a children. It was printed 65% scale and hand painted. The hOBBES strips were painted. The Calvin Hair and black parts were PLA painted in own color! Thank you so much for sharing these amazing files!

After putting it in the display case the glass shelf fell on it. Had to repair them.....

Finally finished them and after putting them in the jewelry case, the glass shelf above fell on them and also the Pickles one. Was able to repair it fairly well. The tail snapped at a stripe so that is covering the break. I thought about making a small bandage around it (still might)
