Romero De La Vega, known as Ratchet, was born in 2020 to a middle-class corporate family in Barcelona. His unique perspective, inherited from his technician father and nurse mother, led him to view the human body as a mechanism needing repair. Inspired by tales of the LifeLine Response Unit, he relocated to the Chrome Coast, Australia, with dreams of joining their ranks. However, the city's brutal nature and a tumultuous relationship with Anneliese Grier, a high-ranking official, left him disillusioned.
Ratchet's life took a darker turn when he became an unintended victim of a corporate conspiracy by ePower Enterprises. The scheme resulted in the death of his last friend in the city, his loyal dog Chico. Heartbroken and fueled by rage, Ratchet's once compassionate nature hardened. Drawing upon his combat experience from LifeLine, he became the cleanup guy or "janitor" for a mercenary group with one primary objective: to bring down ePower Enterprises.
Navigating the treacherous landscape of the Chrome Coast, Ratchet is now driven by vengeance, using his skills as a CyberSurg not only to heal but to exact justice. With the memory of Chico as his guiding force, he's determined to see ePower pay for their transgressions.
