Since joining Sextoagrippus' Order of Amulets and Artifacts, the Archmage has risen through the ranks quickly, revealing mastery of every spell, invocation, and amulet consecration. He arrived exactly in the middle: he rose to the rank of First Master of Magic. But everyone around him wondered how he didn't rise to the highest positions, with the titles of Grand Master, Monsignor of the Occult Arts, all the way to the top of the Order?
All of his superiors noticed: he was unrivaled in the realm of Magic, but he seemed to have secret goals of his own that were not aligned with that of the Order. They tried to punish him, they tried to entice him, but none of it worked. Too useful to be kicked out of the Order, too dangerous to have him as an enemy, too unscrupulous to have him in high places.
The Order keeps him close, in the hopes of being able to watch over his secret conjurations and clandestine spells. But everyone knows that his situation inside it is extremely unstable. In private, everyone whispers: the Archmage is destined to be the leader of the Order, or to destroy it.
