The polluters are the favoutire tools of the Yellow King. Driven not by blind ambition like his knights or pure rage like his hunting dogs but instead by a relentless urge to spoil all things that are good and healthy, they act as his scouts and skirmishers. Raised and nurtured by him with what could almost be mistaken for parental love, he sends them out before an invasion to weaken the resilience and determination of the defenders. Their greatest threat comes not from their weapons or their claws, but from the desease they carry with them. Their goal is to destroy the defenders means to feed themselves. If they spot a grain field, a well or an orchard, they will land and begin their dirty work. The best result the defenders can hope for now is to notice this in time, kill the polluter and burn everything in a wide radius, for everything they touch is lost. If this doesn't happen, then after a couple of hours the polluter will rise again and fly away, leaving behind seemingly no trace of their ill deeds. Should a person however eat an apple from that orchard, or eat bread made from that field, or dring from that well, then they are doomed and will within days be slain by a deadly, highly infectious disease that spreads and kills entire communities if not quickly contaminated. This way, just a few busy polluters can dramatically weaken entire regions, with only ghost villages and corpses awaiting the arrival of the Yellow King and his forces.
