Back in 2020 during the first lockdown of the pandemic I conceptually created the character of Daphne, a derpy demon who couldn't quite demon correctly and was more of a comically comedic character. Initially I'd enetertained the idea of redressing her for various holidays but with my workload it was a project I put on the backburner.

Fast forward to now, and instead of holiday dressings, she has 8 companions who all live together in a flat in Melbourne, AU, pay rent and hold jobs (sort of).

Daphne has morphed into the universe of The Demi Demons, a group of young, ragtag demons who, for one reason or another, can't quite cut it in the UnderRealms and don't get along with their fellow demons.

Daphne was the first to leave and her defiance inspired the others to follow her. One by one they left the only home they'd ever known and moved to earth with the humans, an unprecedented move in demonic history.

Everyone in this flat has an unhealthy obsession with Lady Gaga, it's your guess why.

Daphne's Story

Daphne spent her fledgling years as an outcast in the UnderRealms because she couldn’t quite demon correctly. Her ideas were never evil, sadistic or twisted enough to garner the approval of her peers, and most of them tended to be more chaotically comedic instead of demonic.

It didn’t help that was too squeamish to kill anything (and still is) .

Tired of being the subject of constant harassment and painful pranks, Daphne made the decision to move to Earth full time where she carries out her chaotic plots that have no pattern or style. Not unlike a rampaging toddler with access to illegal wares and abundant funds.

When left to her own non-chaotic devices, Daphne writes song lyrics even though she can’t sing, but she’s become adept at persuading Saphira to perform them. She also has a secret, non-kinky sugar-daddy relationship with God, who spends much time wandering Earth.

Sharra's Story

After moving to Melbourne, Sharra quickly became entranced with the stage and, with a heavy push from Zevi, attended university for performance arts.

She quickly became a renowned ballerina and now entices the crowd with her elegant gait.

Off stage, however, she has a bad habit of seducing the husbands of women she admires. She then plays the couple against each other and launches a number of marriage-grenades into the relationship until the couple ends in divorce.

She does this partly because she enjoys breaking up marriages, but mostly so she can date the now ex-wives legitimately. With help from Dayna, these ladies never walk away from their divorces empty-handed.

Nemia's Story

Nemia has held a fondness (obsession) for all creatures of the Realms since she was a little fledgling. She cared for the Hell Hounds and other darkling creatures of the UnderRealms before choosing to move to Melbourne with the other outcast demi-demons.

With help from Zevi, she now owns an animal shelter and clinic where she offers those of low income adequate care for their pets.

When not working in her shelter, however, she spends her time tracking down humans who’ve abused their pets, particularly the ex-owners of animals that end up in her shelter.

These humans are seldom seen again, and no doubt suffered horribly before becoming food for the Hell Hounds that followed her to Earth: Snickerdoodle, Oreo, and Shortbread - on earth they're disguised as corgis.

She’s absolutely terrified of intimacy, but has feelings for Khaya, who both fascinates and terrifies her.

Khaya's Story

Khaya has found herself unable to hold any kind of typical job due to her low tolerance for humans and an even lower tolerance for rules, schedules, bosses, manners and proper attire.

However her primary hobby, which started as a way to pass the time, has now turned into a full blown career.

Xana has a habit of doxing her bad customers, haters, stalkers and harassers, after which Khaya tracks them down and they're never seen again.

Through accidental means, Khaya earned an ... underworld reputation that has led many women to reach out through Xana to engage these services to escape undesirable situations.

When not engaged in her ‘job’, Khaya fights in illegal cage fights against meathead humans.

Definitely a nympho, and can't decide if she wants to torture Nemia or 'date' her (as much as she's able). These feelings are new to this particular demi-demon.

Unlike the others, Khaya has what it takes to eventually become a full Demon, but her strange feelings for Nemia led her to joining the others in Melbourne.

Dayna's Story

After coming to Earth, Dayna quickly got to work building her little empire. Many sugar daddies were abused in her pursuit to become a lawyer and she is now the most ruthless corporate lawyer Australia has to offer. She’ll tear apart anyone in her path. From the little guy to the Fortune 500 companies, she dominates anyone she comes up against in the legal world.

Pro Bono, however, she handles the many divorces Sharra brings her way.

As a side hustle, that she doesn’t need, Dayna is a Dominatrix with a number of male slaves at her beck and call. She doesn’t bother to use a pseudonym.

After finding the angel, Saphira, the unmovable corporate lawyer found herself falling for the celestial creature while nursing her back to health.

Dayna supported Saphira through university and even rents a separate flat so her little angel can have privacy from the other demi-demons.

Saphira's Story

Upon leaving the Celestial city, the young angel was forced to fight one of her elder siblings who ultimately tore off one of her wings and left her to die on Earth as punishment.

This is where she was found by Dayna.

The Demi Demons nursed the angel back to health before adopting her into their home permanently.

The experience eventually inspired Saphira to become an EMT, which Dayna both funded and fully endorsed.

During this time, the two formed a relationship that would make both the Angels and Demons of the universe collectively sh*t themselves.

Relationships between Demons and Celestials are forbidden on both sides, but neither lady is a part of their world anymore.

Saphira herself still struggles with her feelings, which go against everything her siblings taught her growing up, but her skepticism and fears seem to have little effect on Dayna.

She has a special fondness for Daphne, whom she’d met many times when she’d snuck into the UnderRealms in the past. The Derpy Demon helped inspire Saphira to leave the Celestial City permanently, despite her sibling’s orders to remain.
