A raging storm, a stow away & a terrifying jungle.

Stowing himself away in a crate in the hold aboard a ship he didn't quite catch the name of, Mulio hides in the shadows as the ship leaves the port, Mulio is a grung, a race of small, bipedal frog like creatures so he is no stranger to the humid and damp conditions of the ships underbelly. After a few hours the conditions worsen and the ship begins swaying from side to side, Mulio is thrown around like a ragdoll, hitting his head as he flung face first into one of the ships ribs, his vision fades. He awakens face down on a sandy beach with almost pure white sand littered with shells and seaweed. His skin boiling in the blistering heat he climbs to his feet and begins to assess the situation. Looking around he sees piles of wood debris scattered along the shoreline, next to him is the body of a gnomish male wearing some tatted and battered expedition attire. Usually wearing no clothes the heat quickly becomes to much for him, he begins pulling off the clothes off the cadavar and hastily begins putting them on. He picks up the explorers journal, ink quill and other bits of equipment. He spent a moment getting himself into his gear before looking up and noticing that not far in front of him a dense treeline stretches along the entirety of the beach he begins to head inland in search of shelter, as he nears the trees and enters the thicket he can hear the growls and calls of unknown beasts lingering in the air.

"Where am i?" He gulps to himself rubbing his temple, trying to recall any place he has heard of that resembles this, as he steps into the undergrowth he sees a ornate shrine with a reptilian face... one word comes to him... "HOGETH! " a shudder of realisation dawns on him this is not where he wanted to be. He recalled stories of this mysterious island and very few explorers returning to tell the tale, the stories told of deadly creatures and ancient civilisations. Many had travelled to attempt to reclaim the treasures and artefacts from this tropical nightmare but very little is known about this place except that nearly everything wants to kill you. Mulio begins to cut his way through the dense vines and finds himself in a small clearing, he finds some battered stone pillars and blocks. Climbing onto the biggest rock he could manage he pulls out his binoculars and begins to survey the landscape.

It isn't long before he begins seeing movement in the bushes and a set of piercing eyes, then another before he realises it there are countless sets all huddled fairly close together locked on his direction. Just to the left on the ground he sees an ornate dagger carved with teeth and reptilian markings, darting off the rocks he grabs the blade as the trees begin parting ways he sees a long neck push through the bushes atop is a rather large beak, followed shortly by another long neck with a very similar head and then six more! He thought he was outnumbered by a flock of avian creatures but all these necks connect to a singular, muscular body... His first thoughts of being outnumbered were still kind of true. As the beast crashes through the branches and begins trotting with intent in his direction. He begins to run, Sprinting with haste and purpose Mulio begins running daring not to look back behind him as a series of horrific screeches come bellowing from the multi headed creatures beaks, Mulio dives over a log and begins to feel the ground give way beneath his feet as he begins to slide down into a pitch black structure.

Mulio freezes, staying perfectly still as he attempts to regain his breath and composure. Once he caught his second wind he began to hear the sound of drums and chanting coming from deeper within the ruins, Mulio paused and composed himself before making his way deeper into the ruins, he saw a split in the rocky walls. He peered through hoping to observe what was going on. In the centre of the clearing he could see huge, lizard like beings were gathering, appearing to pay tribute and lay down gifts at the foot to a gigantic grotesque looking reptilian, "These are more disgusting than any of the Lizardfolk he had seen before in Darkshire. "That must be their queen" Mulio muttered under his breath. Between ancient buildings and pillars , this grotesque creature sat upon a almost flesh like sack, which was spewing eggs into a nearby body of water surrounding the Queen, smaller lizard folk with their legs shackled together were fanning the queen with huge palm leaves from the jungle.

As he was jotting down what he was seeing a group of lizardfolk astride a flock of large vibrant coloured birds with sharp beaks, begin to gallop past the ruins that Mulio was concealed in. He flinches as the gigantic birds gallop past, these savage looking humanoids wielding large spears truly look a force to be reckoned with. Mulio couldn't believe all he was seeing, he was furiously jotting down notes making sketches of all the creatures and plants he had encountered.

A little about us:

I started out making & designing miniatures for my dungeons and dragons campaign world "Protogaia", but after showing my players my creations and all the positive feedback i received from social media and anyone else who happened to see my creations, i decided that i would like to share this hobby with the world. I began making terrain on a commission bases and invested in my first 3d printer to help with the dioramas and terrain commissions, i quickly discovered one printer was not enough and invested in a second machine from the proceeds of my terrain sales. Before i knew it 2 machines was not enough and i had quickly outgrown the box room at my house.

So began the construction of the workshop and the realisation that i would need a name for my business and my crazy ideas and thus Modular Worlds was born. I quickly upgraded to new better machines and more of them. I opened a web-store (Which is currently going through a major overhaul and upgrade, I am hoping to get it back up and running very soon.) I started a Patreon but due to a good friend of mine having to change career we found it very hard to keep up with the time constraints of Patreon. I enlisted the help from a good friend Isaac Torres to help me with some concept art and we were rolling! I had already set up a store for my STL files on My Mini Factory. It seemed logical to bring Modular Worlds creations to Kickstarter and eventually to the My Mini Factory's crowdfunding platform. All the stls will end up on my store.
